Thermo Electric Cool Box Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat should I do before using my new thermoelectric cooler? Always read your owner's manual before operating your thermoelectric cooler. Can I use ice or liquids in my thermoelectric cooler? We do not recommend the use of ice in our thermoelectric coolers. It is not necessary. Never fill your unit with liquid that is not in a proper container. Can I run the electric cool box continuously with or without a mains adapter? Yes, thermo electric coolers are designed for continuous use. What is the correct 230 volt mains adaptor to use with the thermoelectric hot/cool boxes? We supply universal rectifiers (mains adaptors) that can be used with Cooly, Tropicool & Royal units. Can I use the electric cool box in my truck or boat? Yes, the units were designed for use in an automobile or truck and can be used in a boat as well. For in-boat usage, they work best out of direct sunlight. How long will a electric cool box unit run on a car battery or boat battery? Every battery, depending on age, will be different. On average, most Thermoelectric products can run 2 hours without the battery being drained of power. When I shut off my vehicle, my thermoelectric cooler stops running. Why? Each vehicle is designed differently. Some manufacturers have designed their vehicles to shut off all accessories when the power is shut off thereby causing your cooler to stop running. Other manufacturers have designed their vehicles to allow voltage to your unit, even when the power is shut off, allowing it to continue performing. Why is water building up on the inside of my thermoelectric cooler? In humid conditions, moisture can build up on the cold sink causing condensation to form in the bottom of the unit. This is not a defect with the product and will not affect product performance. Can I build my thermo electric cool box into a cabinet or box or place it in my trunk? Absolutely NOT! Always be certain that your thermo electric has adequate ventilation. Air intakes and fan areas should never be blocked or covered. What is the warranty policy on Cooly, Tropicool & Royal hot/cool boxes & mains adapters? Warranty is good for one year from date of purchase. |
